As a personal trainer and spinning/aerobic instructor Ann's goal is to inspire the average person to exercise and teach them how beneficial it is to their health. As a step mom to three children she strives to be a role model to them by teaching the importance of exercise and eating right. A family goal this fall is to complete a 5K as a family called "Dead Celebrity" run. The 7 year old will dress up like Elvis, while the 9 year old will be Marylin Monroe. This summer the kids all completed their first one-miler and loved it.
Ann is currently training for the Air Force Marathon at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH and has plans to run the Columbus Marathon on October 16. Fall is Ann's favorite time to train because it's cool and so beautiful outside.
Ann is also a very active member in her community, participating as a coach in the marathoner-in-training program, running soccer conditioning camps for kids ages 10-11. She's also helped raise money in the past for Leukemia's Team in Training program.
To date, Ann has completed 21 marathons. Her marathon PR is 3:10 at Chicago and her best finish is 5th place at the Air Force Marathon, where she's also finished 7th. She enjoys the Lake Tahoe marathon (10th place finish) because it's so beautiful and Boston (3:12) because the crowd and city are so great.
Running marathons is definitely her passion with a goal of breaking the 3 hour mark some day. Ann's ultimate experience would be the Mt. Kilimanjaro marathon in Tanzania and then take five days to hike it.
This winter and spring she will be training to compete in her first triathlon next summer.
